** All new MacBooks now only have 1 ,2 or 4 USB C ports so to use older peripherals like USB 3, HDMI or SuperDuper card readers etc., you will need to purchase some sort of external HUB. There are many types available, from Apple or third party suppliers. It is recommended that you use a Bluetooth mouse, external keyboard and wireless printer to avoid too many wired connections.
