Apple released OS 10.7 Lion and it is the first Update to be available from the MacApp Store as an approximately 4 GB download at $31.99. While most reviewers are happy with it, a fair proportion are not, due mainly to it’s quirky GUI (e.g. reverse scrolling) and as usual, many mainline Applications are yet to be updated to work properly. This update is a quantum leap in look, operation and philosophy by Apple, and not just an evolutionary upgrade.  The price has been kept low by savings in DVDs, packaging and carriage possible by providing it as a download. This is the first time in my Mac history of some 17 years that I have not ordered and waited for a DVD Installer Disc to arrive by mail, or purchase from an Apple Store. People have been doing the same things on computers for years. Clicking. Scrolling. Installing. Saving. With OS X Lion, we’ve challenged the accepted way of doing things by introducing new features that change the way you use a computer.
