Welcome To The Hervey Bay Mac Users Group
May 2013 celebrates our 5th birthday
The Hervey Bay Mac Users Group (HBMUG) was formed in May 2008. We meet on the first Thursday of each month and on the first Tuesday of each month (excluding January)
We are a group of Mac users who want to share our experiences and help other Mac users. Our members’ experience ranges from newcomers to Mac, numerous switchers from Windows, and more advanced and very experienced users. We try to keep meetings simple. Many of our members are older people with limited computer knowledge. With our members’ combined knowledge, we can usually quickly solve most user’s problems and queries. We have no formal organisation or committees. Our membership is steadily growing and we are looking for more people to join us. Many of our members have switched from Windows and have found that a Mac is simpler to use, more stable and leads to a more relaxed experience. We have many female members, so ladies should feel at home. Most of us own relatively new iMacs, MacBook Pros or Air, and are running OSX (pronounced OS Ten) Mountain Lion, Lion or Snow Leopard. We have a few members with older venerable machines, some up to 10 years old and yet able to give very reliable service still running older versions of OSX. At our meetings, you will discover a very friendly atmosphere, our aim is to make everybody feel comfortable and at ease regardless of their experience. Apple Mac Computers are the fastest growing brand of Personal Computers in the world as more and more people discover their stability and reliability, quality, value for money, longevity and ease of use.
Our meetings are very friendly sociable gatherings where we exchange ideas and experiences, also Mac Tips and Tricks are presented. From time to time we have presentations by members or guests on various topics that are of interest to members.
If you currently use an Apple Mac, are thinking of buying one, you are most welcome to join our group. There is no joining or annual fee, so why not come along and chat with other Mac users. Any level of expertise is welcome, and if you are switching from Windows, you are especially welcome. More info here
